Our Very Non-Traditional Nursery.

Our Nursery is mostly finished. We are just waiting to find and receive a few art pieces for the walls. I am very very lucky that my darling Mr. Sailor let me have full creative license to decorate how ever I saw fit. Most of the items are "thrifted" from other area's in our house or items what were once ours. Seeing that we want to eventually have more children, I kept in mind that the big ticket items would be best used if in neutral colors.

The Crib was purchased new from Ikea. It was the color that I wanted and a price that made Mr. Sailor happy. It went together so easily and will eventually convert to a toddler daybed. The bedding is custom made by me. The quilt was the most tedious part of making it. The webs are all pieced together and then sewn in to 12x12 squares. I then freemotioned it with silver thread to make it seem like it really has webbing on it. The bumpers were made out of fabrics used in the quilt. I purposely made them shorter and not as fluffy to help with air flow. I also plan on making or buying a breathable bumper to use. The spider chilling in the corner was a gift from her Aunt JT. Its made from tube socks. His name is Hurburt.

Diapers!
The dresser was Mr. Sailors. It was being shuffled around with no permanent place in our home. So I decided that it would be used for the changing table and to hold her clothes. I really wanted to refinish it but was told no.... Oh well, it does have a charming quality to it. Her dresser is currently holding all of her NB/ 0-3/ 3-6 month clothing (theres not a lot of it probably a drawer of each size.), Headbands, bibs, socks and shoes, diapers (the pink basket is holding the covers and wipes), and spare blankets.

Alf was a gift from Venom's grandma (Mr. Sailor's mum) and is vintage from the 90's. Mr. Sailor had/has one (its currently MIA). Venom also has all 4 season's on DVD thanks to Mr. Sailor. The doll sitting on the hat box was my Great Grandmother's/ GrandMummy's/ Mummy's and now mine. I wanted to have her in Venom's room so that its like my family is near. I plan on making her some new clothes and really wish I could figure out how to redo her hair. According to my Mummy, her hair was once curly. The shelves above the dresser I found at Target. There not the widest but they serve there purpose. They are currently holding My first porcelain doll, My Raggedy Ann Doll (I received it as a baby from my Granpa.), blocks from Ikea, a lime green sparkly spider pumpkin and a TY beanie baby cat.

The recliner was living in our living room but I decided that when breast feeding I would need a rocker and didnt want to purchase another one (if we do its will be a new recliner for our living room). Hello Kitty is current chilling there and waiting. The blanket and Burp cloths (the things handing on the side) were made by Venom's Nana. The Armour is currently empty, I'm not sure if its staying or going. Im really not sure what to do with it.

The Pack n Play is not staying in there, it will eventually come downstairs, but with my Mummy, Sister and Mr. Sunshine visiting next week its going to stay there.

There are just a few things I want to get/find for it but its mostly done. I also only have a few more projetcts to finish (I.E. her lamp).

I hope you enjoyed the tour! Comments and Constructive Criticism is welcome and encouraged.
